About This Session

Are you an impatient programmer who wishes the keyboard could keep up with you? If you've ever wished Java and Spring could do more, then this is the place to be. This session will present Spring Boot, a toolkit and runtime platform that will get you up and running with Spring-powered, production-grade applications and services faster than you believed possible. Offering a radically faster and easily accessible getting started experience, Boot provides a range of highly opinionated non-functional features common to large classes of projects (embedded servers, security, externalized config.) as well as first class support for RESTful services, web apps, batch jobs, and enterprise integration, but it quickly gets out of the way when you need it to. Optionally use Groovy features like DSLs and AST transforms to accelerate implementation. Come see how these goals are achieved through a review of Boot's design and a series of code reviews/demonstrations.
