Livi Erickson is a virtual and augmented reality evangelist at Microsoft, focusing on development for VR and AR platforms. She has built and released apps for the Oculus Rift, presented JavaScript for VR at JS Conf Budapest 2015, taught Intro to Virtual Reality Development at the University of Bremen in Bremen, Germany, and will be speaking on virtual reality inclusion at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing this October.

    Virtual reality is here - and it's never been easier to start building 3D applications. In this session, we'll cover the basics of building a VR application and the types of devices that are available today. We'll also cover some of the considerations for creating great immersive content using the Unity game engine and other technologies for immersive apps.

    Interested in learning more about the Microsoft HoloLens and how to use Unity to develop for it? In this session, we'll be doing an introduction to HoloLens and show the basics of using Unity to build a Windows 10 Universal application to the HoloLens Emulator.
