I have over twenty-five years of experience in custom business application design, development and delivery for clients of all sizes in a wide range of industries. I grew up in New York City and graduated from Cornell University where I was first introduced to computers in 1975. My skills include expertise in requirements gathering, Agile practices, team mentoring and reusable application development frameworks and their implementation. My company Outformations designs and builds custom software, helps our clients adopt Agile practices and provides architectural JumpStarts for teams building high value enterprise class systems utilizing reusable application frameworks and patterns, and is moving into cloud with Force.com, Salesforce and Azure. We have gained a wide variety of experience over the years with other database and application development technologies including Lotus Notes/Domino, DB2, ASP (classic), ColdFusion, Php, Java, Access, Visual Basic and Visual FoxPro. I am former Director, VP and President of the Bay Area Association of Database Developers (BAADD), and I am founder and leader of the .NET Developers User Group since August 2002.

    SQL Server Compact 3.51 is a free, easy-to-use, embedded database engine that lets developers build robust Windows Desktop and mobile applications that run on all Windows platforms including Windows XP, Vista, Pocket PC, and Smartphone. It supports stand alone applications or allows you to replicate a local database with a big brother SQL Server using Sync Services over the web. In this presentation you will learn: 1) What SQL Server Compact Edition 3.51 is and how it works, and 2) How you can synchronize a database with a back-end server over the web.
